How is this 'dock' connecting to the PC? It usually seems that to allow the two drives to work, docking stations would probably need to be connected via eSATA.

Thank you for your assistance. I have tried each one of your suggestions without getting the problem solved. I have not made any changes with my computer recently. I have had this problem periodically since using the All in 1 HDD Docking device. As stated I always get the error code 43. Sometimes Windows locks out my device and I can not access any of my hard drives. Then for some unknown reason although I still get the USB device not recongized it works just fine. Like earlier today after two plus days although I did get the USB device not recongized but I can now access my two hard drives. I can also copy and paste between the computer drive and the drives in my all in 1 device. I can delete view and play every file and/or folder on either drive. It is still working now as I write. Who knows whether it will work tomorrow? My question still remains unresolved.
But thank you for your response in any case it is much appreciated.

The HDD Docking is connected either via a USB or eSATA. Since I am using a laptop I do not have an external eSATA connection. As you can see to my reply to the first response the device is now working. I can view, copy, paste, delete to the computer hard drive and either one of my HDD in the device. I can watch any movie contained on either of my HDD in the device. It just started to work earlier today after two plus days with no connection. Note that even though I can now see and copy etc to both HDD in the device, Windows still gives me the USB unknown device and the error code 43. Yet today I can access both drives in the device. The device is only connected via USB to the laptop. The device will work both drives with either a USB connection or an eSATA connection. Of course the eSATA connection would be more desirable and much faster but I can only use the USB connection. I tried to copy from the computer hard drive to both HDD in the device copying one file to one drive and then at the same time copying another file to the other drive in the device. All worked just perfectly and when checked the files went to the proper drives and can be viewed properly. It is now working but it will probably stop either tomorrow or some other day. The fact that I get the error code for an unrecognized device suggests to me that it needs a new driver for Windows 7. I have contacted the manufacture but have not received a reply.

I have done that and it did not help my problem. I am still getting the message that Windows sees an unrecognized device. Then it tells me it can not connect. If I go to properties it tells me that it is error code 43 and is closing the device. However as of now I still get the error code every time I use the device yet I have full access to both the device and the hard drives connected to it. Thanks for your assistance, but the problem persists although I can use my drives at the present time.

Hello Mur37,
If the device is still not working after that, it may be advisable to contact the manufacturer and see if they have any diagnostic utilities for the device.
Let us know.
Best regards,

I have written to the Device Manufacture but as yet have not received any response. I will try to contact my Computer (ACER) but can only hope. Can you answer a question? The question is 'I still get the 'device unknown' yet I can use the device and also have full access to the two SATA HDD in the device. Why can I access these if Windows has stopped access?' It does appear contradictory at least to me. At the present time I can still access my disks but still get the error every time I turn the device on. I hope that it continues but sometimes I am left without access, so I worry that the condition has not been resolved.
Thanks for your suggestion and I will follow it up.

I thought I should clarify my 'try' to resolve through the computer manufacture. I am currently in Thailand. There is a very large language problem. First in making sure that the problem is properly understood and then next to make sure that the fix is correct. It took me over six months to have them check the computers power supply when the motherboard blew on my wife's computer. The replaced the motherboard and CPU then were going to do the same thing again after we insured that the computer has always been protected with a power bar and always turned off correctly. We asked for them to check the computers power supply to check that it may be defective. If fact it was and I was then only charged for the power supply replacement. It took over six months to correct the problem. I can not recall how many emails and conversations in Chiang Mai and Bangkok to get it corrected. Hence my concern about contacting my computer manufacture.
